The great day finally arrived! |
The students and faculty of the Southwest College Intensive English Program at Gulfton gathered on Thursday, December 6, 2001, to honor the Level Four students who had completed their English studies. Dr. Bruce Leslie, the Chancellor of HCCS, gave the commencement address and commended the students on their hard work. Drs. Neal Tannahill and Arthur Goldberg also participated in the ceremony. |

Dr. Bruce Leslie, the Chancellor of the Houston Community College System, greets the students attending the graduation ceremony on December 6, 2001. David Ross, the department chair, announced that aproximately 650 students from 63 countries attended classes at Gulfton this semester. He read a countdown of the ten largest groups. Colombian students stood and cheered when they heard they were the largest group at Gulfton. |
